PM Chromebook Scheme 2026: Apply & Sindh Update

PM Chromebook Scheme 2026: looking for the application form, Sindh registration news, or help with a missing student record? Start with the official IBCC portal rather than a forwarded form. This guide separates the launch announcement from the practical checks students and parents need before submitting personal documents.

Last checked: 26 October 2026. Aptub is an independent information website, not the scheme administrator. Registration notices and board instructions can change.

What has the government announced?

The Prime Minister launched the Youth Chromebook Scheme on 25 October 2026. The government says 500,000 Chromebooks with MiFi connectivity will be distributed over two years on merit. The launch also highlighted students from religious seminaries. These are programme announcements, not a promise that every student who fills a form will receive a device.

PM Chromebook scheme eligibility: check your region

The official IBCC Chromebook portal currently specifies:

Board region Students considered
Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan Top-performing government/public-school Class 9 students, Annual Examinations 2026
AJK, ICT, Gilgit-Baltistan Top-performing government/public-school Class 9 and Class 10 students, Annual Examinations 2026

Sindh registration update: the portal says registration will open there after all Sindh boards declare their 2026 Class 9 annual results. Check the live notice before trying.

Some news reports describe broader institutional eligibility and a 50% minimum. The portal wording is narrower. If your school category or seminary route is unclear, ask your institution or board for the applicable official instruction. Do not treat a news headline as proof that your individual record qualifies.

IBCC Chromebook scheme apply online: the official route

  1. Select your board on the official portal and enter your number and date of birth.
  2. Check the board-supplied name, school and marks.
  3. Upload the photograph, marksheet, attested B-Form/CNIC and attested father/guardian CNIC.
  4. Review, submit and save the reference number and downloadable slip.

The portal lists a 300 KB limit per document. Photograph: JPG/PNG; other documents: JPG/PNG/PDF. It allows one application per student, with no self-editing after submission.

Chromebook scheme record not found: what to do

IBCC advises trying a roll or registration number instead of the CNIC/B-Form number, then contacting your board if the record is still missing.

Before asking for help, make a short note of what happened. Write down the selected board, examination year, which identifier you tried, and the exact error message. This is more useful than telling the school only that “the website does not work.” Keep the date and time of the attempt too, so staff can distinguish an ongoing problem from a temporary interruption.

Compare the details you are entering with your own result card. A number copied from another sibling’s document or an old examination slip can send you down the wrong path. Read each digit slowly, and check the date of birth against the identity document rather than relying on memory. These are troubleshooting checks, not a way to change eligibility.

A missing lookup is not enough evidence to conclude that you have been rejected. Equally, do not assume it guarantees selection once corrected. Ask the school or board to clarify your record and next action. Never enter invented details just to move to the following screen.

Prepare readable documents before opening the form

Use a well-lit room and place each document flat. Photograph it straight from above, with every corner inside the frame. Check that the name, number, marks and attestation remain readable after reducing the file size. A small file that cannot be read is not a useful upload.

Keep originals separate from compressed copies. Give your application files simple names such as “student-marksheet” and “guardian-id” so you do not accidentally select an unrelated photograph. Open each finished file once before uploading. On a shared family phone, create a dedicated folder to prevent confusion between several students’ papers.

If you need help at a photocopy shop or school computer, stay present while the form is completed. Check the selected files yourself. Afterwards, remove your identity-document copies from the shared device where practical. Avoid posting those documents in public comment sections while asking for assistance.

Last date, merit percentage and selection: avoid assumptions

This guide does not assign a nationwide closing date or a guaranteed selection percentage. Before acting on a deadline screenshot, identify who issued it, which board it covers, and whether a newer notice replaces it. A genuine notice for one board may still be irrelevant to another student.

Ask your school a precise question: “Which current board notice applies to my examination year and school, and what must I complete by its deadline?” Request the original notice or its official link. This helps you make a decision without depending on a cropped image circulating in a messaging group.

Merit language also needs care. A minimum threshold, where officially applicable, is different from the marks of the last selected student. Do not pay anyone who claims to guarantee an allocation, move your name up a list, or bypass verification. Keep your own application evidence and use the responsible institution for follow-up.

If the portal is slow or a file will not upload

Keep your prepared files and notes before trying again. If a page stalls, avoid repeatedly pressing the submission button because you may lose track of whether an attempt completed. Check for a confirmation screen or saved reference first. If an upload fails, inspect its format and size, then reopen the file to confirm it is not damaged. Try a stable connection when available. These basic checks can help isolate a technical issue, but they cannot resolve a missing board record or override a closed registration window. Escalate those questions to the responsible institution.

Before and after you press submit

Read the review screen from top to bottom. Check the student’s identity, examination details, school and every attached document against the originals. If a parent or teacher is helping, ask them to read the entries back to you. A second careful check is usually quicker than trying to resolve an avoidable mistake later.

After submission, save the slip in two places you control, such as your phone and a personal backup folder. Keep a separate note of the reference number. If you seek assistance later, explain the issue clearly and share sensitive information only through the institution’s appropriate channel. A saved slip is evidence of submission; it is not itself a device award.

For older students planning their next step, Aptub also explains NJP registration and profile preparation. That is a separate employment guide, not a Chromebook application route.
