Job Summary

The Specialist – Cyber Security role, reporting to the Security Operations Manager, focuses on incident triage, monitoring, response innovation, and basic forensics. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for cybersecurity jobs, offering a chance to contribute to a proactive SOC team. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in an off-hour page-out rotation, and drive innovative security practices to protect dynamic systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security access and report suspicious activities to team members or higher-level management.
• Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and perform risk analysis.
• Analyze security breaches to determine root causes and manage escalations for incident response.
• Develop and document new monitoring techniques and response capabilities to enhance SOC operations.
• Harvest threat intelligence and convert it into actionable content for proactive defense.
• Participate in table-top exercises, ethical hacking, and event triage preparation to strengthen security posture.
• Generate detailed reports for IT/SOC administrators, business managers, and security leaders to evaluate security policy effectiveness.
• Advise and implement changes to counter attacks and improve security standards.
• Keep security systems updated and contribute to evolving security strategies.
• Document incidents to support robust incident response processes.
• Research vulnerabilities and hacking utilities to harden the environment.
• Hunt for risks across the environment and translate findings into actionable mitigation strategies.
• Educate employees on individualized threats and the impact of security incidents.
• Collaborate with team members, sharing expertise to enhance collective knowledge.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years of progressive experience as a SOC analyst, security researcher, or ethical hacker.
• Proven experience leading teams in a cross-functional setting.
• Proficiency with SIEM, EDR solutions, and other monitoring tools critical for cybersecurity jobs.
• Certification in CEH, CHFI, Blue Team, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to research and resolve complex issues independently.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working in a dynamic SOC environment.
• Creative and self-starting mindset with a passion for learning and innovation.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence, ethical hacking, and incident response methodologies.
