Since our founding in 2016, we have expanded to over 800 employees with $230m in revenue: including our recent 2025 acquisitions of SeKON and Macro Solutions. We are dedicated to delivering mission-enabling technology across National Security, Federal Financial, and Healthcare domains.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at Alpha Omega, you will have a diverse and challenging set of duties. You won’t just be monitoring dashboards; you will be developing the policies that govern the entire cybersecurity environment.
Policy and Procedure Development: You will develop comprehensive policies to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility: preventing unauthorized access to networks and data is your primary mission.
Risk and Vulnerability Assessment: Conducting deep-dive assessments of planned and installed systems is essential: you will identify risks and suggest protection needs to keep our federal partners secure.
Security Principles Integration: You’ll ensure that sound security principles are reflected in the organization’s vision and goals: promoting awareness among management is a key part of your leadership.
Contingency and Disaster Recovery: Developing systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures is vital: you will review and update these to ensure mission continuity.
Technical Documentation: You will provide technical writing support for policy development: creating cybersecurity templates for use throughout the agency is a recurring task.
Process Improvement: Identifying and recommending improvements for the A&A process and established guidelines: you’ll use charts and databases to monitor continual improvement goals.
Collaboration: Gathering and integrating technical input from engineers and technicians: engaging constructively within the team to resolve challenges is expected.
To be successful in this role, you need a specific blend of technical mastery and the ability to work independently. We are looking for candidates who can hit the ground running in the 2026 cybersecurity landscape.
Security Clearance: You must hold an Active Secret Clearance to be considered for this position.
Experience: We require at least 5+ years of experience in Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or IT Security.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT or Cybersecurity field is preferred: however, we allow industry certifications to substitute for educational requirements when paired with relevant work experience.
Tool Proficiency: Experience with RMF workflow tools like XACTA or eMASS is critical: familiarity with industry tools such as Nessus, WebInspect, Burp Suite, and Qualys is also expected.
Cloud Security Knowledge: Experience or familiarity with FedRAMP inheritable controls and cloud-based security principles is highly valued.
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with a keen attention to detail are mandatory: you must be comfortable discussing risks with all levels of management.
Alpha Omega is proud to be a Virginia Best Place to Work and a Washington Post Top Workplace. We regularly review our Total Rewards package to ensure we are competitive in 2026.

Comprehensive Health: We provide Health and Dental Insurance: including 100% employer-paid premiums for employee coverage under the HDHP health plan.
Future Security: Participate in our 401(k) plan with a match that is 100% vested after two years of service.
Time Off: Enjoy PTO including paid parental, military, and bereavement leave: plus eleven paid Federal holidays.
