As a Lateral Police Officer, you’ll perform general duty police work, protecting life and property while engaging with the community. This position stands out among police jobs, offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus and competitive benefits for those with prior law enforcement experience.

Respond to emergency and routine calls as directed.
Patrol business and residential districts by vehicle, bike, or foot.
Administer first aid to injured persons as needed.
Enforce laws and apprehend violators using lawful force when necessary.
Use de-escalation techniques to promote compliance.
Maintain proficiency with firearms, vehicles, and other equipment.
Investigate crimes, recover stolen property, and prepare reports.
Testify in court against accused persons.
Engage in community events and business checks.

High school diploma or GED (required).
At least 12 months as a full-time, paid Police Officer within the last 36 months, or completion of a WSCJTC-recognized academy.
Valid Washington State driver’s license by hire date.
Ability to read and write English fluently.
Pass background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical exams.
Qualify for ACCESS Certification.
Strong conflict management and decision-making skills.

Base salary: $100,288-$123,755, up to $131,180 with 6% education premium.
