A lot of people think you need to know how to code to work in AI; but that is not true for this role. Your main job is to talk to the AI and grade its homework. It is like being a teacher for a robot.
You will spend most of your time writing prompts; which are just things you say to the AI to get it to respond. You might ask it to write a recipe for chocolate cake; or you might ask it to summarize a long article about history. The goal is to see if the AI can handle different topics. You need to be creative; because we need lots of different types of conversations. If you write boring prompts; the AI will not learn very much.
Sometimes the AI gets confused and says things that are not true. We call this a “hallucination” in the industry. For example; if the AI says that the moon is made of cheese; you have to mark that as wrong. You will use external sites like Wikipedia or Google to check facts. You have to be very careful; because if you let a mistake slip through; the AI will learn the wrong thing.
Often the system will show you two answers from the AI; and you have to pick the best one. You will look at things like grammar; tone; and truthfulness. You have to explain why you picked one over the other. This part requires you to think criticaly and use good judgment.
We are not looking for scientists; we are looking for people who are good at reading and writing. If you pay attention to detail; you will do great here.
You must be fluent in English. This means you know how to use commas; periods; and colons correctly. The AI learns from you; so your writing has to be perfect. We also require you to have a Bachelor’s degree; or at least be currently enrolled in college. It does not matter what your major is; but people who study English; History; or Philosophy often do very well.
You need a laptop or a desktop computer; and a reliable internet connection. You cannot do this work on a phone; because the interface is too small. You also need to be able to use basic tools like email and web browsers.
This is not just a gig; it is a chance to get your foot in the door of the tech industry.
One of the best things about remote chatbot evaluator roles is the flexibility. You can work whenever you want. If you are a night owl; you can work at midnight. If you have kids; you can work while they are at school. You just need to log in and do the work; nobody is watching over your shoulder.
We pay between $15 and $20 dollars an hour. This is good money for a job that you can do in your pajamas. We also pay weekly via PayPal; so you do not have to wait a long time to get your money.
If you want to get hired; here is a secret tip. When you take the entrance test; do not rush. Read the instructions twice. A lot of people fail because they think it is easy and they go to fast. Take your time and show us that you care about quality. Also; be honest in your writing. We can tell if you are using another AI to write your answers; and if you do that; you will not get the job.
Starting as an evaluator is just the first step. If you are good at this; you can move up to become a “Senior Prompt Engineer” or a “Project Manager.” The skills you learn here are very valuable. Companies all over the world are looking for people who understand how to talk to AI. By working here; you are building a resume that will help you get high paying jobs in the future. This is a career path in AI that is open to everyone; not just coders.
